NE Tennessee man accused of burning baby with cigarettes served with 2-year-old indictment

ROGERSVILLE — A Rogersville man accused of burning his girlfriend’s 14-month-old baby with cigarettes in 2010 was returned to Hawkins County on Friday from a Georgia jail to answer an aggravated child abuse charge.On Sept. 14, 2010, Rogersville police stopped a vehicle occupied by Joey Mark Waye, his girlfriend and her 14-month-old daughter because the couple were wanted for questioning in connection to some burglaries in Hamblen County.During that traffic stop, police allegedly observed that the baby had numerous burns.Keep reading with our partners at the Kingsport Times-News.
