253 Johnson City employees, roughly 30% of the city’s workforce, have city-issued credit or charge cards and auditors think that is “unreasonable.” Johnson City’s audit for 2013 is in and it’s nearly perfect except when it comes to credit cards. That’s where auditors found a “significant deficiency” for the second year in a row. A public records request revealed 218 city employees have a credit card and another 35 school system employees have what’s called a procurement card.
