Johnson City woman accused of stealing car, cashing title in for a loan



Police say on Friday, Jan. 17, they arrested a Johnson City woman, and charged her with theft of property over $1,000.

According to a Johnson City Police Department news release, 41-year-old Crystal Gail Coffman, of 3406 West Market Street, was arrested by investigators after a woman reported to police that her car title, credit card, and jewelry were stolen by someone who had been living with her on Monday, Jan. 13. Investigators revealed that Coffman had taken the stolen car title to a Elizabethton business to receive a loan.

Coffman was brought to the Washington County Detention Center where she was being held on $10,000 bond.

Her arraignment is scheduled for Jan. 20, at 1:30 p.m., in Sessions Court.
