ELIZABETHTON — Carl Ray Nidiffer, 73, the co-owner of an Elizabethton liquor store at 1675 Broad St., was cited this week by the Elizabethton Police Department on a charge of sexual battery.
The charge stems from an alleged incident on Nov. 25. A woman told police she was in Nidiffer’s store with her husband. She said Nidiffer grabbed her right arm and shoulder with his left hand and touched her right breast with his right hand.
The woman alleged that Nidiffer told her he was “just trying to have some fun,” and if her husband didn’t want to have fun “there ain’t no reason we can’t.”
Nidiffer is scheduled to answer the charge in Sessions Court on March 4.
