Police: School zone speeder charged with vandalizing friend's apartment

A school zone speeding stop Friday netted Johnson City police a man wanted on a felony vandalism from last weekend.Phillip Carr, 18, 349 High St., was stopped for speeding near Woodland Elementary School, police said. Police learned that Carr was wanted on a warrant stemming from an incident that occurred Sunday at friend’s apartment.Police said Carr was visiting his friend and was asked to leave because he was intoxicated, causing him to get angry and destroy several items in the apartment.Carr was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $10,000 bond pending a Sessions Court appearance Monday.
