GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — Twenty-four-year-old Emily Busscher of Zeeland Township suffered serious injuries when she was hit by pellets from her husband’s 12-gauge shotgun. She was listed in fair condition at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids on Monday afternoon.Capt. Mark Bennett of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department said late Monday that the investigation of the incident is continuing.Bennett said the couple both had guns and were doing target practice on private property owned by an acquaintance in the area of 16th Avenue and Byron Road in Jamestown Township at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The husband was on top of a hill, Bennett said, when he took a shot at a rabbit just as his wife started to appear over the crest of the next hill.Emily Busscher was hit in the face and shoulder area, Bennett said.
