Police: Jonesborough man found with pot, brass knuckles in Johnson City traffic stop



Johnson City police found three bags of marijuana, nearly $1,000 in cash and brass knuckles on a Jonesborough man during a traffic stop Thursday, according to a news release.

Police pulled over Cheyenne C. Lowery, 30, 170 Hall Road, Jonesborough, on South Greenwood Drive because his license tag was not illuminated, police said. Records indicated Lowery’s license was revoked from a prior DUI and he had one previous driving on a revoked license incident.

Searching Lowery, police found a zipper bag containing two baggies of marijuana, as well as a separate baggie of marijuana, a digital scale and brass knuckles. The three bags had a combined weight of about 16.6 grams. He also had $972 cash in his wallet in assorted denominations.

Police seized the cash and Lowery’s vehicle.

Lowery was charged with charged with possession of a schedule VI controlled substance for resale (marijuana),  possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on revoked license 2nd offense, violation of the financial responsibility law and failure to illuminate tag.

He was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $23,000 bond and arraigned Friday in Sessions Court.
