Chemical truck crashes on I-40; closes westbound in N.C.

Hazardous materials crews continue their cleanup after a tractor trailer hauling chemicals overturned.The semi shutdown the westbound lanes of I-40 in Haywood County, North Carolina around 3:30 Monday afternoon near mile marker 6. Officials say 600 gallons of a chlorine based chemical spilled from the wreckage and some of that chemical may have leaked into the Pigeon River. The wreck caused officials to divert all traffic to Interstate 26 in Asheville, then west to Johnson City. Some truckers…
