Support Krieger

Tom Krieger has decided to once again dedicate himself to public service with his decision to run for Washington County Commissioner. In that regard, I am writing in support of Tom and his candidacy. We have worked together over the years in numerous ways, a few of which include serving together on the hospital’s Washington County Foundation Board, the East Tennessee State University Foundation Board, the Roan Scholar Leadership Program, the Salvation Army Board and the United Way. The thing that distinguishes Tom from others is the way he serves. Krieger has always let his actions speak louder than words in his faith as well as his community service. He always takes the jobs others don’t want to do and does them well. Year after year, he has served in most cases with little to no recognition and has done so with a smile and a kind word. When others might have grown weary, Tom dedicated himself to helping the kids at Coalition for Kids, working with Keystone Dental, helping to found the Ronald McDonald House, and getting presents for kids at Christmas. He has been responsible for organizing the Salvation Army Souper Bowl Luncheon every year, since its inception in 1997, in order to raise money for the hungry. There is no one I know who has been more humble, selfless, giving and energetic than Krieger. He is a leader in every way, and a true example of a servant-leader. We are very fortunate in Washington County to have a person of Tom’s abilities willing to give his time and efforts once again in serving others. Please join me in supporting Tom Krieger for Washington County commissioner. K. NEWTON RAFFJohnson City
