Tweetsie Trail project gets its own song

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) — A bicycle and pedestrian trail linking Johnson City and Elizabethton now has its own song.



The Tweetsie Trail is being built on the abandoned ET&WNC rail line, formerly travelled by steam locomotives. The trains got the nickname “tweetsie” from local residents because of their shrill whistles.
