I am writing this letter to urge the voters of the 6th Commission District to vote for Tom Krieger in the May 6 Republican Primary. Tom is a true public servant and will serve with integrity, passion and enthusiasm.I serve as a greeter at Central Baptist Church and Tom has greeted with me for the past 10 or so years. He also serves with me on the Deacon Board of our church. In addition to that, he and his wife, Becky, chair the Lord’s Supper Team that prepares all the elements for our Communion Sundays. Tom and Becky also work together in delivering a “Meals on Wheels” route one day each week. When I moved to Johnson City, I became involved in a dental clinic (Keystone Dental Care Inc.) that provided free dental work for poverty-level adults. The clinic operated only one day a week when I asked Tom to join the Board of Directors of our clinic. When Tom joined us, he immediately reviewed our operating polices and procedures, bylaws and financial statements to assure he had a full understanding of our operation and financial stability. Tom also reached out to some community-minded friends and recruited them to join our board, thereby strengthening our team. Tom wrote grants and solicited support from a number of sources, bringing in needed operating funds. Tom also served on the United Way board and obtained a grant, which later led to us receiving funding each year. Because of Tom’s ability to plan, analyze, coordinate, organize, manage and control, we were able to begin serving the community four to five days a week, enabling Keystone Dental Care to provide millions of dollars worth of dentistry services and care for our clients over these past few years.
