Local distilleries are an excellent idea to boost tourism, and therefore commerce, to the surrounding areas. Think of all the people who go to Asheville, N.C., on a regular basis just because the high number of craft breweries located there, or the amount of extra traffic caused by Ole Smoky in Gatlinburg. Admit it, you’ve been there, and you probably even made a special trip even though you’ve been to Gatlinburg a thousand times. Even if there is only one fantastic distillery located here, in the right location, with the right products and the right people, there could be no limit to the possibilities.Seems to me Jonesborough has faith in the positive attributes such a business could bring.
