Freeman, Taylor lead Bucs to third straight win

Clinton Freeman went 3 for 4 with a home run and  three RBIs Tuesday as the East Tennessee State baseball team beat UNC-Asheville 11-6 at Thomas Stadium.The Bucs, who were coming off a 3-2 victory at Auburn, improved to 5-3 with their third consecutive win.Freeman raised his batting average to .417. He hit his second home run of the season, a two-run shot in the third inning.Jeremy Taylor also drove in three runs with a 3-for-4 performance. He had a double and a triple and scored four runs.Chris Riopedre added two of the Bucs’ 10 hits.ETSU broke a 5-5 tie when Taylor scored on an error. The Bucs broke it open with four runs in the seventh and four more in the eighth.Logan Rice earned his first win with three scoreless innings of relief. He has yet to give up a run in 101?3 innings this season.The Bucs return to action Friday at 3 p.m. when they begin a three-game home series against Canisius, which played in the NCAA tournament last year.
