Area businesses stepping up to try and help people with disabilities who lost VA jobs

For nearly 20 years, people with disabilities have worked inside the cafeteria at Mountain Home VA campus. Recently that long run came to an end for six part-time employees. Allan Cole is one of them. The 52 year-old man has Down’s syndrome. Before he lost his job last month he had worked at the VA for 16 years. “I miss my friends,” Cole said. “I wish I could go back. It’s hard to say goodbye.”
